Display of the Japan said that it will begin OLEDs mass-production in the next two years, according to Reuters. The move by the Japan display, a joint-venture between Sony, Toshiba, and Hitachi, is widely perceived as an attempt to compete with Asian rivals Samsung and LG in the middle of rumors that Apple iPhones can use OLED screens.
The news is not super amazing: the month last began to surface that Japan display can begin making OLED screens, although some have speculated that an iPhone OLED would not ship until 2018. The iPhone has done with an LCD since its launch in 2007.
